10 Reasons why you should watch Interstellar | A write-up by IFPian Shikhar Verma

Enough has been said about Christopher Nolan's new sci-fi movie, and I don't think I am smart enough to review it. Even though it is probably one of Nolan's weakest films there are a million reasons to watch it.

Here are 10 such reasons why you should definitely go through any kind of shit-inducing wormholes to catch this stellar film.

1. There is a quote in the movie which I would like to share straightaway - ”We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments. These moments when we dare to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known. We count these moments as our proudest achievements. But we lost all that. Or perhaps we’ve just forgotten that we are still pioneers. And we’ve barely begun. And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, because our destiny lies above us”.
Mr. Christopher Nolan has broken all the barriers and has achieved the impossible. In my opinion, this is the best directed Nolan movie after 'The Prestige'.

2. There is no stopping to the McConnaisance. Matthew Mcconaughey carries this science lesson on his heavy shoulders with great elegance.  Even in tough situations and overall melodramatic scenes he manages to shine on.

3. Nolan mixes space adventure with well fletched-out family drama that manages to give you goosebumps and tears at the same time. The plot is intelligent, nearly flawless and always interesting.

4. Even though its hard to comprehend sometimes, it manages to thrill both the niche audiences and the ones who have their brain cells constantly rattling around looking for answers.

5. Grand in scale and visually moving, it surpasses one of most stunning space movies that gave space nerds an orgasm last year. (Refer: Gravity)

6. With nearly a dozen successful films in his kitty, Mr. Nolan has directed one his most ambitious films till date and it shows with every moving second of the film. To add more things to its awesomeness, Interstellar is a part of a dying-breed of film-making. Its one of those last films that will be projected in magnificent 70mm.

7. Because of Hans Zimmer's incredible background score. Ranging from Giant church organs to mere piano clutching, everything is so hauntingly beautiful that your heart can't stop skipping beats.

8. There is something to admire in virtually every frame of Interstellar, with undeniably every theme known to Mankind being sucked in. Be it-  Wormholes, particle science, black holes, time travel, love, loss, parenthood, brotherhood, death, afterlife, betrayal, trust, the end of mankind and rebirth.

9. Interstellar shoots for the stars and nearly reaches there. When the ambition surpasses everything, you got to respect that.

10. It's not Christopher Nolan's best film by a long shot, yet it also is a living proof that 'not Christopher Nolan's best film' is still better and more thrilling than many directors' finest work.
