The Journey of 2013!
4:28 PMIndia Film Project
The doomsday, 20th September, 2013 arrived when the official opening ceremony was held in Prakash auditorium in Ahmedabad. Hundreds of folks came to get the feel of hearing the theme being unveiled. People were biting nails and sweating around with the anxiety. What a scene it was! Almost a panic attack. All the excitement grown kept doubling up for all. The auditorium got full with the throng around and that moment was a treat for an eye to watch real film enthusiasts hooting along at the moment. As we say that whatever type of journey it may be it includes alot of emotions. And film-making is indeed a journey full of emotions for a filmmaker.
Then after a span full of suspense and thriller, the theme INDIA CAN CHANGE was declared with a twist of keeping the central character of a female. When the word FEMALE came, there were tons of sighs, some in relief and some were screwed up sighs. That is the adrenaline rush which becomes a journey of fun to make a film overnight and of course we were successful in giving people such a terror enough for them to skip a beat. Two days it took them to deliver a perfectly crafted film. It was a real happiness to know that 320+ films were made in just 48 hours including 4200+ people and 22 states! which were going to be judged by three benchmark directors of Bollywood; Tigmanshu Dhulia, Nikhil Advani and Bejoy Nambiar.
After the submissions of the films on 22nd september, the film festival begun showcasing films like, Dharavi, Jaane bhi do yaroon, Gangoobai, Pestonjee, Mammo. There were even several workshops held in Mumbai which were webcasted too. 28th september was the final cut for all the Short-film makers as it was the award ceremony day. That anxiety was obviously more than one must have felt while making the film. Again hundreds of filmmakers gathered to know the winning films and others were in front of their Pc's and laptop screen's, stuck their like they would never get up in their life. Bejoy Nambiar and Nikhil Advani were the two people who announced the winning films and those winners who were present at the moment they came rushing like wind on the stage and danced in ecstasy; they deserved to do that. The joy, the rush, the excitement, the creativeness was at its best.
There were people who might have lost the award for a single mistake done, but I am sure that it was a day where FILMMAKING won!
